U11 'B' Netball Tournament, Les Ormes

On Friday two teams travelled to Les Ormes for the Under 11 'B' tournament.  St. Michael’s had a 'B' & 'C' team playing.
The tournament was divided into two pools, played on a round-robin basis. The 'B' team won all their preliminary matches and so moved into the semi-finals as group winners.  The 'C' team won three and drew two matches and on goal difference narrowly missed out on being group winners, but went through as the runner up.

The two semi-finals were Beaulieu v J.C.G and St. Michael’s 'B' v St. Michael’s 'C'!  This was quite a challenge for our girls as they had never actually played a truly competitive match against their friends  It was a tight game and the 'B' team were made to work hard.  They finally prevailed 3-2.
The final was therefore St. Michael’s 'B' v Beaulieu (whom we had defeated in the round-robin).  The match was full of mistakes, as both teams were very tired after a whole morning of almost non-stop netball.  Sadly our girls could not quite make it first over the finishing line, and finished as the runners-up to Beaulieu, the final score being 2-1.
It was a very hectic but enjoyable morning and thanks should go to Chris Hicks and Linda Andrews for their tireless support.
