As part of this journey, we wanted to create a milestone event where we invited everyone with an interest in our school, to both celebrate our achievements and make real change. So, The Bee Hive Ball was born. We are making great strides as we continue our journey with B Lab UK to become a B Corporation, which will see St. Michael’s take action towards becoming a sustainability leader – and changing the lives of Islanders as we do it. St. Michael’s is delighted to invite you to our inaugural sustainability fundraising event – The Bee Hive Ball 2022; An evening of positive change and a first of its kind for the school.

The event is open to parents, former pupils, friends of St. Michael’s and members of the business community to enjoy an evening bursting with special performances from pupils as well as a host of surprise entertainment, local produce and a lot of fun.

The event has been kindly supported by our Sustainability Partner, Rathbones Investment Management International, and is taking place on Saturday 8th October 2022 at Le Manoir de Rooster, the Headquarters of Albert Bartlett Potato Company in Trinity. Doors will open for a champagne reception at 6:00pm, with guests to be seated no later than 7:15pm. Carriages at 1:30am.

We would like to encourage guests to be sustainable when choosing their attire for the event. This could be supporting an ethical and sustainably conscious fashion brand, purchasing an outfit from a charity shop or perhaps borrowing from a friend. As much glitz and glamour welcome but let’s Bee creative! The Bee Hive Ball is about positive change – so let’s show the Island how it’s done. If you would be so kind to support us, we have limited available so please do purchase your tables by 11th September – the closing date for table bookings. Tables of ten are priced at £2,000 per table.

The event will feature an opportunity to bid and win 17 money-can’t-buy prizes. Every penny raised on the evening will be split between 17 local charities and nonprofit organisations (see below) through a new community-focused Social Impact Fund, set up by Rathbones and St. Michael’s. Each beneficiary will be matched with one of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The evening will also see St. Michael’s launch Vision 2030, its new change strategy. The event is an opportunity for guests to socialise, as well as helping us make meaningful change. We have been mindful to create a great event to ensure we give guests exceptional value for everyone attending and it will be put together as sustainably as possible – making sure guests enjoy a night to remember forever.
