Night at the Oscars

The Oscar Night Concert at the Opera House on 31st January was a wonderful event for St Michaels.  The concert, given by the Jersey Chamber Orchestra featured our Form 4 choir and our 6th Form girls from the Chamber Choir.

Howard Blake, of “The Snowman” fame conducted them in his brand new work “The Land of Counterpane” and Dominic Ferris, from West End Experience conducted the choir and orchestra in three pieces: “If I didn’t have You” from “Monster’s Inc”, “In Dreams” from “Lord of the Rings” and Let it Go from “Frozen”.

The girls were the backing group to “Skyfall”.  They had the added experience of being accompanied by the Jersey Chamber Orchestra.

The proceeds of the concert went towards the “Oscar MacLean Foundation and all performers wore something yellow in memory of Oscar, since it was his favourite colour.  The Opera House was a sell out and the concert was truly memorable.
