St Michael’s School attended the tournament, which is now in it’s 12th year and competed in the section for schools with less than 30 boys in the top two years. There were 3 pools of 4 teams and St Michael’s in the first match played against Winterfold House and won this game 27 points to 5. Second match they played against Birchfield and once again they were victorious winning the game by 27 points to 0.  In the 3rd game however they came up against a strong team from Barnardiston Hall and lost 36 : 0. At the end of the round-robin stages St Michael’s were joint 4th out of 12 teams and qualified for the Cup Competition.

The quarter-final match was against St Anselms and we narrowly won this game by 15 points to 12.   In the semi-final we played against Dorset House, who were ranked 2nd overall and St Michael’s had a very convincing victory by 29 points to 5.   Going through to the final once again we played against Barnardiston and even though our performance was much improved than on the previous occasion we played them, we lost the game.

Tournament tries were scored by Joseph Hollywood 5, Harrison Le Sueur 4, Archie Barnes 3, Will Jones and Matthew Allen 2 (each) and Julius Childe 1.

All the parents who travelled to the tournament were very impressed and proud with the performance of the St Michael’s team in such a prestigious tournament.
