On Wednesday 5th November Mr MacAviney and Mrs Reynolds took 4 teams to the Primary Schools Cross Country Competition at Les Quennevais. It is an individual competition and also a team event as the top 3 runners for each school score points for their team. It was an exciting event with approximately 650 competitors and 24 schools participating.
The Form 3 girls and boys ran 1500m. The Form 3 girls put in an outstanding team performance coming 2nd overall out of 23 schools. Particular mention must be given to Maddie Reynolds who came 8th, Julia Allen 9th and Matilda Ward 12th out of 158 runners.
The Form 3 boys came 7th out of 24 schools with Archie Rankin being the first St Michaels boy to cross the finish line in 23rd position out of 179 runners.
The Form 4 girls and boys ran 2000m. The first girl home for St Michael's was Emily Le Marquand in 15th position out of 136 runners and the first boy home was Harvey Bracken Smith coming 10th out of 166 runners. Overall F4 girls came 5th out of 17 schools and F4 boys came 7th out of 24 schools.
